The Vocal Art Ensemble is the featured act Monday, Sept. 23, at Village Homes Performers’ Circle at the Village Homes Community Center, 2661 Portage Bay Ave. East.

Formed in February 2008, VAE won the 2012 American Prize for Creative Programming and Collaboration for featuring a cappella choral pieces aside intimate instrumentals and dance.

The 22-voice group’s Sept. 23 set at the Performers’ Circle will feature a preview of its fall concert, “Voices of Innocence,” slated for Nov. 22-24 in Sacramento and Davis. The program also offers the budding instrumental and singing talents of VAE children.

VAE toured in Ireland in 2010 and looks forward to a performance tour of England and Scotland in May. For more information, visit www.vae.trug.com.

The Village Homes Performers’ Circle is a free event. It features performers of all levels and creative expressions, and meets on the fourth Monday of each month (except December). Sign-up begins at 6:45 p.m., with sign-up performances from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. The featured act performs from 8:30 to 9 p.m.

For information, call 530-756-3611.
