Woodland Opera House auditioning for ‘A Christmas Carol, the Musical’

The Woodland Opera House will hold auditions beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, for roles in “A Christmas Carol, the Musical.” Auditions will take place at the WOH studio, 415 Fourth St. in downtown Woodland.

Please come with a prepared song and the sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. Dress to dance and move. Actors of all ethnicities and races are encouraged to audition.

Parts are available for men (actors/singers/dancers/movers, age range 18-35) for the roles of Young Scrooge, Young Marley, Fred (Scrooge’s nephew), Mr. Smythe (a young widower) and various additional ensemble roles.

Parts are available for women (actors/singers/dancers/tappers/movers, age range 18-35) for the roles of Emily (Young Scrooge’s fiancée), Sally (Fred’s wife) and various additional ensemble roles.

Boys are needed (actors/singers/movers, age range 7-13) for the roles of Tiny Tim, Boy Scrooge, Jonathon (a street urchin), Peter Cratchit and various additional roles

Everyone in the show (with the exceptions of the actors playing Scrooge and Tiny Tim) will play multiple roles.

Rehearsals will begin Oct. 6, and will run from 7 to 10 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. The show will be presented Nov. 28-Dec. 21.
