Explosions of color, movement and energy describe the mixed-media works to be featured in the upcoming exhibition at Gallery 625, 625 Court St. in Woodland.

The two-person exhibition featuring the artwork of Sacramento artists Kari Breese and Stacey Wong Hilton is a vivid exploration of color through the use of acrylic, oil pastel, charcoal, polymer film, watercolor gauche and Sharpie marker in the creation of these new works.

Both artists are graduates of Sacramento StateĀ and studied art with Ian Harvey and Tom Monteith, among others.

The exhibition opens Thursday, July 31, and continues through Sept. 2. There is an artists’ reception from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 1, during the downtown Woodland First Friday Art Walk. Putah Creek Winery will be pouring tastes of their varietals.
