Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match!

The Young Performers’ Theatre of the Davis Musical Theatre Company announces auditions for “Fiddler on the Roof,” the beloved classic that comes again to the DMTC stage, this time as a summer theater activity for young people.

Under the direction of Jan Isaacson, auditions will take place at 4:30 p.m. May 2 and 3 at the DMTC Performing Arts Center, 607 Peña Drive, with select callbacks on Wednesday, May 4. Rehearsals begin July 5, with performances running Aug. 12-21.

Actors ages 7-18 are eligible. No experience is required, but selection is based on ability and suitability for parts. Auditions require singing, acting and dancing at the director’s discretion, so auditioners should arrive dressed to dance, and with piano sheet music of a song they are prepared to sing. A piano accompanist will be provided; no recorded music or a cappella singing, please.

No missed performances are permitted, and all schedule conflicts for rehearsals must be indicated at the time of auditions, so parents are encouraged to bring their calendars.

Additional audition information and lists of characters can be found at http://www.dmtc.org/ypt/ypt.html or by calling (530) 756-3682.
