Davis Musical Theatre Company’s Young Performers Theatre presents “Charlotte’s Web,” beginning Saturday, April 27, and running through Sunday, May 19.
This charming, musical theater version of E.B. White’s childhood favorite tells the story of the blossoming friendship between Wilbur, Fern Arable’s little pig, and Charlotte, the nurturing spider.
The show features music and lyrics by Charles Strouse, the award-winning composer of “Annie” and “Bye, Bye Birdie,” and has memorable, uplifting songs, such as “Summer,” “County Fair” and “Nice to Meet You.”
“Charlotte’s Web” is directed by Helen Spangler, with choreography by Jan Isaacson and musical direction by Jia-Min Rosendale.
Performance are 2:15 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, with an additional 11:15 a.m. showing on May 4.
The cast includes actors from Davis, Dixon, Woodland and Sacramento, featuring: Charlotte (Cooper Johnson), Wilbur (Megan Spangler), Fern (Sophia Nachmanoff), Templeton (Cedric Hughes), Lurvy (Cassidy Smith), Martha (Chloe Deamer), Edith (Ariana Ruvalcaba), Homer (Eric Smith), John (Anthony Swaminathan) and Avery (Ian Thompson), along with a talented ensemble of young actors ages 7-17.
