Toy story: Bringing the holidays to every child

For families struggling on the margins of society, facing unemployment, foreclosure, even homelessness, the holidays can seem like just another burden.

Because if there’s not enough money to pay the mortgage or rent or utility bill, much less to buy food or clothes, surely there’s nothing left over to fulfill a child’s holiday wishes.

For 13 years now, Elisa Stone has been doing her part to ensure that such children receive at least one gift during the holiday season, by organizing the Davis Community Church’s annual gift program, which has provided some 350 toys and gifts every year to local children.
