Not many students who graduate from Davis schools choose to enlist in the military. However, when both grandfathers, your dad and your older sister have joined, the odds are likely to go up.
“As far as I know, there has been at least one member from every generation of my family that has served,” said Shelby Hurley (née Brackett), a 2011 Davis High School graduate. Hurley is an aviation electrician’s mate in the U.S. Navy.
“I remember her senior year when she announced to me that she would be joining the Navy once she graduated,” said Angelo Moreno, DHS music teacher and orchestra director. “She was so full of excitement and anticipation for the future.”
