Kick off your Picnic Day weekend with art and live music at the Second Friday ArtAbout, which this month features 28 venues, some of which will offer music, refreshments and other special benefits.
Live music will be featured at Bohéme Hip Used Clothing (Five Three Oh), the Pence Gallery (Rock Band University bands) and the Radiate Art Collective (guitarist David Hafter), as well as Art-is-Davis, the Nelson Gallery, Ray Johnston Photography Studio and Whole Foods Market.

For those who made New Year’s resolutions to get fit in mind and body, the Second Friday ArtAbout allows you to keep two resolutions with one event.
You can exercise your body as you walk around downtown Davis and meander through 22 venues, and then exercise your mind as you take in the art and converse with the various artists.
Be sure to check out one of the newest venues, Davis Makerspace, which will host a documentary viewing of “The Art of Algorithms” and have samples of algorithmic/procedural art on computers. Studios 21, 26 and 29 will host painting demonstrations and works by eight different artists of the Radiate Art Collective.
