Bike Fun Fest celebrates two-wheeled living

Bike Fun Fest, a street party to celebrate Davis’ first community bike mural, is planned from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday along Third Street between E and F streets. Live music, do-it-yourself bicycle and helmet decorating and free art activities are planned. Families also can pick up back-to-school bike safety information.

The event is co-sponsored by the Davis Art Center and Paint Bike Fun.

Art Center showcases art that moves you

All summer, visitors to the Davis Art Center are exploring momentum and the creative explosion that happens when art meets science.

This year’s Discovery Art Program, “Momentum: Art in Action/Creativity in Motion,” investigates physical and social momentum and encourages visitors to think about why things move and how motion can make art.
