Al Aldrete has been named plant operations manager of the new Carlton Plaza of Davis, a senior living community opening in mid-March that will feature 120 apartments for independent living, assisted living and memory care.
Aldrete, a resident of Woodland, served as general manager of County Fair Mall and was named a top young professional by the Woodland Chamber of Commerce in 2012 and 2013. He previously served as the executive director of the Winters Chamber of Commerce and has worked in banking, insurance and financial services.
Aldrete has served in leadership roles with many community organizations, including as treasurer of the Yolo Family Services Agency, membership chair and currently first vice president of the Woodland Chamber of Commerce, president of a LeTip group, and secretary and treasurer of local Rotary clubs.

The three-story, 110,000-square-foot Carlton Plaza of Davis community is on a 2.5-acre site on Fifth Street between Cantrill Drive and Peña Drive in Davis. The new community will employ up to 100 people in administrative, resident care, food service and maintenance positions. It will have a shuttle bus to take residents to appointments, shopping and on excursions.
Carlton Senior Living was founded by Tom MacDonald in 1986 after he encountered the challenges of being the primary caregiver for his mother. His experiences led him to build communities that placed an increased emphasis on activities, outings, quality care, delicious meals from fresh ingredients, and live entertainment.
