Casa Verde Designs is in the process of moving from its tucked-away spot at 424 F St., Suite B, to a space in the newly redeveloped Fifth Street Crossing, across from Dairy Queen. It closed last week and should reopen in mid-August.
The green design showroom is a partnership with Nancy Morrow of Casa Verde, Linda Bellmer of Alchemy Interiors and Judy Mustard of JWM Designs.
“We all work together as separate businesses, and the collaboration has worked out really well for us,” Morrow said.
While construction is finished, “we will still be able to work with customers on projects by appointment, offering free in-home consultations until the new showroom is up and running … People can keep up with what’s going on by listening to the message on our answering machine at (530) 757-6325 or just dropping by the new location, where I will be placing daily updates on our progress. We are hoping to have a Grand Opening celebration in early September.
“We hope that people find it convenient to get services and products here in Davis. … We definitely needed more space, because the number of sustainable design products available for my customers has increased so much!” said Morrow, who noted that the square footage nearly doubled, to 1,600. “We also needed more studio space and space to work with clients individually and to help them pull together all the materials for projects. I had also been looking for a space that could be used for community events and product training sessions.”
The center, at 912 Fifth St., has been completely remodeled from its former state as a run-down whitewashed warehouse. The business received an allowance from the developer, Davis Ace Hardware, and a matching redevelopment loan from the city.
Another business moving into that center is Baciarini’s Martial Arts. The karate studio plans to relocate on Aug. 1 from its Fourth and E streets spot.
