Curves of Davis named top team fundraiser in Relay for Life

By
August 8, 2011 |

Curves of Davis, part of the chain of the world’s largest franchisor of fitness clubs, was honored as the top team fundraiser at Relay for Life, which took place over the weekend at Emerson Junior High School in Davis.

This was the fifth year that Curves of Davis has fielded a team for the event, which benefits the American Cancer Society. The Curves team boasted 35 members — double last year’s number. The team raised $2,205, surpassing its goal of $1,000 and last year’s total of $870.

Additionally, Curves placed 123 luminarias around the track in honor and memory of loved ones who have battled cancer. That was up from 86 luminarias the team placed last year.

Eight Curves members and workers staffed the Curves booth, which provided information about breast cancer and the importance of exercising to prevent cancer.

For more information, call Curves of Davis at (530) 297-0812 or stop into the Curves Club at 1260 Lake Blvd, Suite 106, in Westlake Plaza shopping center. For more about Curves, visit www.curves.com.
