Davis Roots, a local business incubator, will host a Demo Day event from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 25, at its offices at the Hunt-Boyer Mansion, 604 Second St. in downtown Davis.

The second class of graduating startups will be pitching and presenting tech demos of their products at the event, and the third class of startups will be introduced.

The graduating companies are:

The Gift of Education: A company that has developed a proprietary software program that facilitates online contributions to 529 plans and other education savings accounts; and

* Fishrock Labs: A firm founded on research from UC Davis’ scientists on the use of redmelon in preventing vitamin A deficiency in children. The company has formulated products for skin care, energy and vision boosting daily cooking oil.

The event is free and open to the public. More information on Demo Day can be found at www.davisrootsdemoday.org.
