DDBA lunch talk to focus on RDAs

By February 17, 2011

Ken Hiatt, city of Davis Community Development director, will give a presentation on the city’s Redevelopment Agency on Wednesday at the Davis Downtown Business Association’s Brown Bag Lunch.

The lunchtime chat will run from noon to 1 p.m. in the Odd Fellows Hall, 415 Second St. in downtown Davis.

Hiatt will discuss the RDA, “how it functions, how it has contributed to the vibrancy that downtown currently enjoys and what’s on the horizon as city leaders work to preserve the RDA as an economic development catalyst for downtown and the rest of the RDA district,” the DDBA says.

RDAs are a timely topic as Gov. Jerry Brown has proposed eliminating these agencies throughout the state as a way to help close the budget gap.

No RSVP is required for the Brown Bag Lunch and the public is welcome to attend. Those planning to come are invited to bring a lunch or purchase one from a downtown eatery. For more information, contact Joy Cohan, DDBA Director, at (530) 753-8763 or [email protected]
