Dealflicks, a mobile startup similar to Priceline, but for movie deals, has partnered with the Varsity Theatre in Davis to boost ticket sales. The Varsity owners hope to increase customer flow and create a stronger online presence to attract a younger tech-savvy, price-conscious demographic by partnering with Dealflicks.
Tickets purchased through Dealflicks can be up to 60 percent the full price of a movie ticket when the coupon code “varsity” is used. No convenience fees are charged.
In turn, Dealflicks hopes to revive an industry that has been hurt by recent advances in technology as potential customers watch movies online by using Hulu, Netflix and Redbox.
“By offering great deals on their website, iPhone app and Android app, Dealflicks brings great deals to customers on the go while helping theaters fill in their empty seats,” says spokesman Anthony Ocampo. “It is a win-win situation for all.”
