Lori Lagerstrom of Davis joined more than 30,000 Mary Kay independent beauty consultants at the company’s annual seminar from July 16 to Aug. 2 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas.

The seminar brings together consultants from around the country and world to celebrate their business achievements and provide education, recognition and motivation for the year ahead.

Lagerstrom began her Mary Kay business in 1991 and is currently an independent sales director. She was recognized for developing a director in qualification, a way of providing leadership and opportunity for future generations.

“This business opportunity is not just for those who are already educated and polished but for those who have the motivation to succeed,” she said. “The queen of director sales was in her 80s and that reminded me that as long as women have something to share and the drive to share it, they can succeed.”

As a part of Mary Kay’s long-standing commitment to prevent and end domestic violence, the consultants were encouraged to bring gently used professional attire to donate to domestic violence shelters as part of The Mary Kay Foundation’s annual “Suits for Shelters” program.
