Boutin Jones Inc., a law firm with offices in Woodland and Sacramento, announces two new partners — Bruce Timm and Dennis Michaels. The promotions were effective Jan. 1.
Timm is a member of the firm’s employment law and litigation practice groups. He handles employment law matters in state and federal courts on behalf of private and public entity employers.
He has defended clients in matters involving claims of sexual harassment, discrimination (including disability, race, age and gender discrimination), wrongful termination, wage/hour violations, workplace retaliation and disputes under the California Family Rights Act.
Timm was recently sworn in as the 2013 president of the Sacramento County Bar Association.
Michaels is a member of the firm’s corporate and securities and lender support practice group, He works with a wide variety of large and small companies, including startups. He represents and counsels companies, founders and investors on corporate formation, angel and venture capital financings, intellectual property matters, public and private securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, public company reporting and general corporate and securities law matters.
Michaels’ corporate, mergers and acquisitions practice includes experience across a wide range of industries, including agribusiness, energy, financial institutions, health care, the sciences, medical devices, software, manufacturing, professional services, real estate development and retail.
