Mutual Housing hires Jauco as lead organizer

Sacramento/Yolo Mutual Housing Association recently hired Mariano Jauco as lead organizer. In his new position, Jauco will supervise six community organizers who work with two to three Mutual Housing properties in Sacramento and Yolo counties.

As well as being the management contact, he will provide coaching and training in building community across the many cultures and ethnicities of the diverse residents.

Prior to joining Mutual Housing, Jauco was the city of Sacramento’s neighborhood resources coordinator where he was responsible for providing information and resources to community members. In this capacity, he also worked with neighborhood groups to improve the safety and residential quality of life.

As the principal of Jauco & Associates since 2000, Jauco also is a member of the Progressive Consultants Network, Business Network International and Sacramento Coaches Association.

A graduate of the National Community Development Institute’s Professional Development for Consultants program, he earned Certified Professional Coach and Energy Leadership Index – Master Practitioner designations from the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching.

Jauco is chairman of Pace e Bene Nonviolence Service and has worked with the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. He has served on the board of directors for the United Way of the East Bay, Tri-City Homeless Coalition and Renewed HOPE.

Jauco has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from UC Davis and was certified as an ASQ Quality Engineer. He also has a master’s degree in ministry from the Franciscan School of Theology, Berkeley.
