I called. I searched. I peeked into windows. Somehow, the Comings & Goings list is pretty short this week.

Awards & More of Davis may be open by the end of the month, owner Fidel Sanchez reports.

The new store at 1340 E. Covell Blvd., Suite 102, fills the void left when Davis Awards & Watchworks closed in January.

It will offer trophies, plaques, name badges, nameplates, custom engraving, and watch battery replacements and band adjustments.

Creative Hair salon at 1520 E. Covell Blvd., near Nugget Market, is moving into the vacant Tutti Frutti space two doors down.

The move will allow the salon to add services like facials and nails, owner Luz Gomez said. Work is underway. Gomez hopes the new salon, called Creative Hair and Spa, will be complete by the beginning or middle of May.

A spokesman for Nation’s Giant Hamburgers said Thursday that it has “no current plans for the Davis market.” Some fans had hoped it was coming to Second Street near Target.

————

The downtown Subway sandwich shop, at 130 G St., is closed for remodeling. It’s expected to reopen in about two weeks.
