Rain delays Second Street work

By February 17, 2011

Rainy weather has delayed the final roadwork stages of the Second Street corridor improvements, the Davis Downtown Business Association reported.

As a result, North Bay Construction will complete the landscaping and other sidewalk improvements while the city of Davis re-schedules the repaving.

If possible, the city intends to have grinding and repaving completed during the week of March 21, which is spring break for UC Davis students. When this work is being done, access and parking will be limited for at least two days. Parking will be free in the E Street Plaza parking lot during that phase of construction, the DDBA announced.

For more information, contact Community Development Administrator Katherine Hess at (530) 757-5652 or [email protected], or Public Works Inspector Matt Deusenberry at (530) 757-5686.

All dates and timeframes are subject to change if there are more weather delays.
