Two local businesses will work together on Earth Day to go green and support 3-year-old Presley Gyuro, who lost her father Jimmie to a rare form of cancer last month.
All jeans donated to Renew Denim, 222 D St. in downtown Davis on Sunday will be sold at Rominger West Winery’s Green Day on Saturday, April 28. All proceeds from that day will go to help establish an education fund for Presley, who is the niece of Davis resident and iseeDavis.com founder Cheri Gyuro Benson.
“They asked if they could do something to help Presley, but I didn’t realize it would be of this magnitude,” said Guyro Benson, who has been a great supporter of the Davis community herself and is touched by the return of love she is experiencing. “It just goes to show how caring and loving the people in this town are, the kind of people who live here, that they would help out a complete stranger.”
Those who want to donate to Presley’s education fund, but have no old jeans to bring into Renew Denim, can make a monetary donation by visiting http://www.thegiftofeducation.com/index/profile/id/35. The Gift of Education is another local Davis business in support of Presley, creating an education account for her. Donations can also be sent straight to the bank: The Presley Jane Gyuro Educational Fund, Alliance Bank of Arizona, 4703 E. Camp Lowell Drive, Tucson, AZ 85712.
