Sacramento airport honored for customer service

By
March 11, 2011 |

Airport Revenue News has named Sacramento International Airport as the nation’s best medium-sized airport for customer service.

ARN’s 2011 Best Airport and Concessionaire Awards presented at ARN’s annual Airport Revenue Conference and Exhibition last week in National Harbor, Md.

“This award reinforces that we are committed to offering consistent customer service that is second to none,” said Hardy Acree, director of airports, in a news release. “As the Gateway to Northern California and the World, how our customers are served while at the airport is as important as their experience at their destination.”

Sacramento airport concessionaires also fared well in the 2011 Best Airport & Concessionaire Awards. Vino Volo received three awards in the small concessionaire category: best overall retailer; food operator with the highest regard for customer service; and best overall food and beverage operator.

The airport’s master concessionaires, The Paradies Shops and HMSHost Corp., also snagged awards. Paradies was honored as the retailer with the highest regard for customer service; best retail specialty brand operator; and best overall retailer. HMSHost was named the food operator with the highest regard for customer service and best overall food and beverage operator.

The airport’s Central Terminal B, scheduled to open later this year, will include 2011 Best Airport & Concessionaire award winners Famous Famiglia, the food operator with the highest regard for customer service; and SSP America, the best food and beverage brand operator; in addition to a new Vino Volo location, and brands managed by The Paradies Shops and HMS Host.

Sacramento County Airport System is responsible for planning, developing, operating and maintaining the county’s four airports: Sacramento International Airport, Executive Airport, Mather Airport and Franklin Field. For more information, visit www.sacairports.org.
