The Small Business Development Center will offer a workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 14, on using social media to promote your business.

This session will run from 1 to 4 p.m. at the SBDC, 1410 Ethan Way, Sacramento.

The three-hour workshop will cover:

* Basics of setting up a Facebook fan page and provide tips on how to grow your fan base as well as how to build relationships and drive traffic to events and products;

* How Twitter can create a positive buzz about your business and how LinkedIn fosters professional alliances; and

* The power of email marketing to reach new customers as well as create loyalty between your existing base.

Participants will leave this class with the knowledge and confidence to launch their own business social media, a workshop description says.

The cost is $40 and resource materials are included.
