Christi Skibbins, executive director at the Davis Chamber of Commerce, was among 28 Chamber of Commerce executives to graduate Feb. 4 from Academy, a professional development program presented by the Western Association of Chamber Executives.
Academy is an interactive three-day (over three years) training program on Chamber management essentials designed for today’s Chamber executives and staff professionals.
“We congratulate all of the graduates and their Chambers for having the vision to invest in professional development,” WACE President Dave Kilby said in a news release.
During the three-year Academy program, graduates participated in 18 three-hour classes and successfully completed a significant number of additional independent study hours outside of the classroom. This was the sixth graduating class since the program’s inception.
“The Academy program has been invaluable to me and to our Chamber,” said Skibbins, who has been with the Davis Chamber since July 2008, in the news release. “I’ve not only come away from the experience with considerable knowledge, but with a network of colleagues from around the West.”
WACE is an association of Chamber of Commerce executives and staff professionals designed to promote and enhance professional development. With approximately 720 members from 14 Western states, WACE is the largest state or regional association of Chamber of Commerce executives in the nation.
