To-go eatery to fill L Street spot

July 28, 2011 |

Stone Soup Catering and To Go has plans to open an eatery in Let Them Eat Cake’s former spot at 423 L St., Suite B. (The cupcake bakery moved to 310 C St.). Office manager Jessica Cox said the owners are shooting for an Oct. 1 debut.

The shop is not affiliated with Stones Catering, or the former Stones Café in the Fifth Street Plaza shopping center.

“The idea is to be open in the mornings for coffee, baked goods, etc., and hopefully a box lunch to go for later in the day if you are headed to work,” Cox said. “Also, barbecue is a big component, but that is still being sorted out. There will be no seating; this is strictly catering and walk-in, take-out.  We will be offering pre-made dinners weekly for pickup to take home and reheat.”
