Teens can sign up for a free, half-day boot camp to learn about making financial decisions to get the things they want like a car or new cell phone, save money for college and not go deep into debt.
The boot camp will be offered twice — from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays, June 29 or July 13, in Travis Credit Union’s Community Room, at One Travis Way, Vacaville.
Participants will be set up in “Mad City” with a temporary life to use for a few hours to figure out how getting stuff really works.
“All you’ve (got) to lose are the bad decisions you’d make in real life if you didn’t sign up,” a news release said.
Refreshments and a drawing for an iPod will be provided. Attendance is limited to 30 teens per session. To reserve a seat, call (707) 469-1784 or (800) 877-8328, ext. 61784.
Based in Vacaville, Travis Credit Union is a not-for-profit cooperative financial institution serving those who live or work in Alameda, Colusa, Contra Costa, Merced Napa, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus and Yolo counties.
