UC Innovation Series heads to Davis

The Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) and UC Davis will host the UC Innovation Series from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at the UC Davis Genome and Biomedical Sciences Facility, 451 Health Science Drive in Davis.

One of 16 events planned throughout the state, the goal of the UC Innovation Series is to increase the visibility of the UC system as a worldwide leader in education, research and public service, and to expand its potential to produce innovation that leads to new business growth.

The series will highlight major updates and trends in innovation in the UC system and will include presentations on early, mid-level and late-stage campus innovation in each region.

The Davis event will feature as speakers UCD Chancellor Linda Katehi; Panorea Avdis, chief deputy director of GO-Biz; Maelene Wong, CEO and CTO of ViVita Technologies; Judy Van de Water, chief scientific adviser and chairwoman of the Scientific Advisory Board at Pediatric Bioscience; Michele Wong, CEO of Clean World Partners; Hamish Butler, COO of Glue Networks; Jack Crawford, CEO of Velocity Ventures; and emcee Steve Currall, dean of the UCD Graduate School of Management.

Registration is required and space is limited — registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. To register, email tmheath@ucdavis.edu or call 530-752-9795.
