Dawn Adams has joined the Yolo County Visitors Bureau as the new sales director.
Adams will have varied responsibilities in her new position. These include attending trade shows to encourage event and meeting planners in different industries to come to Yolo County for their events, as well as coordinating activities with hotels and inns. She also will be involved in coordinating “FAM Tours” — familiarization tours — to introduce people to the hotels, meeting facilities, and many attractions throughout the county, a news release said.
Adams has more than 10 years of experience in the hotel and hospitality industry. She most recently worked as the sales manager, SMERF accounts, at Lions Gate Hotel and Conference Center in Sacramento. She also has served in lead sales positions at Hilton Garden in Sacramento, Embassy Suites in Walnut Creek, and Courtyard by Marriott in Los Angeles. She is a member of CalSAE, the Religious Conference Management Association, Society of Government Meeting Planners and National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners.
“We are very excited to have Dawn on board,” said Alan Humason, the Visitors Bureau’s executive director, in the news release. “She brings a wealth of experience and know-how, and a winning personality, to our team.”
