The Yolo County Visitors Bureau has moved to new offices in downtown Davis, in the Mansion Square office complex. The new address is 132 E St., Suite 200, directly above Zen Toro Restaurant.
“With the expansion of Davis Roots in the Hunt-Boyer Mansion where we had been located, we needed to find new space for ourselves,” said Alan Humason, executive director of the YCVB. “We worked local property broker Melina Maggiora, owner Roger Smith and contractor Ted Curley, among others, to completely remodel the space to suit our needs. It’s great to have a new home.”
The new suite has three private offices for staff, a “coffee bar,” and new furniture throughout, including displays for maps, brochures, travel guides, and examples of locally made products representing all of Yolo County.
The centerpiece of the new office is a 50-inch high-definition “Smart TV” that is connected to the Internet as well as the YCVB database system.
“The TV lets us show videos and photographs of the region as well as call up information for walk-in visitors in a very lively way,” said Tiffany Dozier, public relations and communications manager.
The office is also wired for future needs, such as digital touch-screen monitors or kiosks.
Once the staff gets completely settled, they plan to host some future events, including an open house.
“We also plan to make it a tour stop for event and meeting planners we have scheduled in April, as well as a visit by the Bay Area Travel Writers,” says Dawn Adams, YCVB sales director.
Community members are invited to stop by. Office hours are weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Yolo County Visitors Bureau works to encourage visitation to the communities of Davis, Winters, Woodland, Clarksburg and the Capay Valley. The bureau also works closely with UC Davis as well as other civic and promotional agencies, and offers a variety of brochures and services at the Visitor Center.
