First-time home buyers in Yolo County may apply for federal WISH grant funds from Yolo Federal Credit Union, the institution announced this week. The funds are granted by the Federal Home Loan Bank for disbursement to eligible home buyers in Davis, Woodland, Winters and West Sacramento.

Those eligible may apply for up to $15,000 in matching grant funds to be used for the down payment and closing costs involved with purchasing their home. Under the WISH Program, Yolo FCU will match up to $3 for every dollar contributed by the buyer toward a home purchase.

“Providing low- and moderate-income individuals and families the chance at realizing their dream of homeownership is a high priority for us,” said Jenee Rawlings, president and CEO of the credit union. “This grant program is an important tool in helping us meet this objective.”
