Yolo Federal Credit Union has announced that it aims to achieve LEED certification for its new branch under construction at 501 G St. The credit union plans to incorporate an array of sustainable building features to meet this goal.
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design is an internationally-recognized green building certification system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit.
“We have worked diligently with the architects and builder to find sustainable and ecologically friendly building materials for this new location,” said Clyde Brooker, Yolo Federal president/CEO, said in a news release.
“The branch will include a 12 kw photo-voltaic solar system and an electric variable refrigerant flow heat pump system that will maximize energy use by removing heat from an area that is too warm and transferring to another area that is too cold. Many of the interior features are made of recycled materials, and we are especially excited that 75 percent of the construction waste alone will be separated and diverted, reducing the impact of the construction process on our environment.”

“We are Yolo County’s credit union and premier mortgage lender. With a wide variety of financial services, including our expanded business services, we are excited to bring this new beautiful full service branch to our current and future Davis members,” Brooker said.
