State of the city: challenges and opportunities

The city of Davis faces many budget challenges in this tough economy, City Manager Steve Pinkerton said Tuesday, but is well-positioned for new economic development in collaboration with UC Davis, which he described as an “incredibly powerful economic engine.”

Davis business owners and employees packed into the Davis Odd Fellows Hall, 415 Second St. downtown, to hear Pinkerton map out the “State of the City” during the Chamber of Commerce’s monthly membership luncheon.
