By From page A7 | February 14, 2013

Local show canine Pleasant Hill Magnum of Samara added another notch to his collar as he finished fourth in the herding group at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show on Tuesday.

Magnum was the first of his breed to place with such high honors in the herding division, according to Dogchannel.com. Magnum is a Canaan dog, a breed native to Israel. He has tied or broken every breed record, and has been recognized as the Canaan dog breed winner at the Westminster Kennel Club and American Kennel Club National Championship Dog Show for the past three years.

His owners are Pamela Rosman and Richard Vulliet, a UC Davis professor of veterinary medicine, and he lives in Stonegate.
