Aditya Jagadish, a student at Davis High School, has been selected for membership into the National Society of High School Scholars. The announcement was made by Claes Nobel, NSHSS founder and chairman.

Membership in NSHSS entitles qualified students to enjoy a variety of benefits, including scholarship opportunities, academic competitions, free events, member-only resources, publications and publicity honors.

Stuart Meyers, professor of anatomy, physiology and cell biology at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, will present the keynote address at the Association for Applied Animal Andrology Conference on July 28-30 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Meyers’ presentation is titled “Cryostorage and Oxidative Stress in Mammalian Spermatozoa.”

He also will attend and present research findings at the concurrently held 17th International Congress on Animal Reproduction, also taking place in Vancouver, B.C.

Davis residents Evan Lyon and Steven Shack graduated from Loyola Marymount University, joining more than 1,300 of their classmates in LMU’s 2012 centennial graduating class.

Both students earned bachelor’s degrees in political science.
