The Yolo County Library and city of Davis Child Care Services Office welcome children, families, child care providers and the community to the grand opening next week of the Davis Toy Library. The event will run from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the children’s section of the Stephens Branch Library, 315 E. 14th St. in Davis.
The Davis Toy Library will have developmentally appropriate toys for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and young school-age children. The variety of toys will include dolls, animals, play food, dishes, blocks and musical instruments.
A $15 annual membership will allow members to check out three toys for three weeks.
“The Davis Toy Library will offer toys that can enrich story time by engaging children through play,” Yolo County Librarian Patty Wong said in a news release. “Please join us on Sept. 27 for the grand opening of this unique service for children, their families, child care providers and the community.”
The West Sacramento Library also offers toy library services, and the toy libraries at both branches are open to all Yolo County residents.
