Now through Jan. 15
Registration for Davis Little League is open online and runs through Jan. 15. Current registration costs vary — depending on the division in which a child plays — ranging from $130 for T-ball to $310 for Junior League. A new Challenger Division for special-needs players has been added. Kids ages 4 to 14 are eligible for DLL. League officials require players 9 or older to attend a skills-assessment day. Sunday, Jan. 19
The Davis High School Baroque Ensemble fundraiser — featuring live music, wine-tasting, appetizers and a raffle — will run from 5 to 7 p.m. at Monticello Seasonal Cuisine, 630 G St. This high school group of violinists, violists, cellists and a bassist is directed by Grammy-nominated Angelo Moreno. The musicians are raising funds to go to Italy next summer.

Special guest Susan Leonardi, The Enterprise’s “Wineaux” columnist, will pour wine, Monticello chef Tony Gruska will prepare seasonal appetizers and the musicians will perform. Monday, Jan. 20.
The city of Davis is looking for talented students to participate in a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration from 11 to 1 p.m. If you can sing, dance, perform a dramatic skit or have other talents, contact Judith Plank at 530-383-1711 or [email protected].

Tuesday, Jan. 21
Students attending secondary schools in the Davis Joint Unified School District get a day off thanks to a teacher work day.

Wednesday, Jan. 29

The city’s annual Teen Job Skills Workshop takes place from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the Veterans’ Memorial Theater, 203 E. 14th St. Learn how to apply, interview and get a job with the city of Davis Community Services Department or another employer. For more information, call 530-757-5626.
