Thursday
Davis High School hosts a California State University workshop for seniors interested in applying to a CSU campus and their parents. The event begins at 7 p.m. in the Brunelle Performance Hall, 315 W. 14th St.

Saturday
Children and their teddy bears are invited to the second annual Teddy Bear Tea on the lawn of the Gibson House Museum in Woodland. There is one seating, beginning at 11:30 a.m. and tickets are $25 for one adult and one child. Tickets for additional children are $10 each. Proceeds fund tours of the Gibson House museum and grounds by third-graders countywide. For more information, call 530-666-1045. Friday, Sept. 21
Today is the deadline to apply for a spot in the Davis Children’s Nutcracker. Applications are due in the Community Services Department, 600 A St., Suite C, by 5 p.m. The Nutcracker is open to children ages 6 to 12 and the 250 available spots are filled through a lottery. Saturday, Sept. 22
Come celebrate National Gymnastics Day at an open house hosted by the city of Davis gymnastics and dance program. The open house is from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Civic Center Gym, 23 Russell Blvd. All ages are welcome and admission is free.

Sept. 29-30
Become a fully trained babysitter, certified in infant and child first aid and CPR at a two-day program offered by the city of Davis to children ages 11 to 15. The program takes place Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at the Community Pool Building in Community Park. The cost is $125. Fairytale Town in Sacramento presents the 12th annual ScholarShare Children’s Book Festival featuring guest authors and illustrators, storytelling performances, hands-on literacy activities, a book fair and more.
