What’s happening for youths

Nov. 19-21
* Come “tumble with turkeys” at a special city of Davis mini-camp. Children ages 5 to 12 will learn gymnastics skills and enjoy games and crafts. The camp, which takes place at the Civic Center Gym, 23 Russell Blvd., runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day and participants should bring a bag lunch. The cost is $68. To sign up, call the Community Services Department at 530-757-5626, register online at http://www.cityofdavis.org or visit 600 A St., Suite C.

Dec. 1-2
Become a fully trained baby-sitter, certified in infant and child first aid and CPR at a two-day program offered by the city of Davis to children ages 11 to 15. The program takes place Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at the Community Pool Building in Community Park. The cost is $125. Register by phone, 530-757-5626, online at http://www.cityofdavis.org, or in person at 600 A St., Suite C.

* Davis Little League registration is open for the spring season. Little League is open to boys and girls ageS 4-14 (based on player’s age as of April 30, 2013). DLL has levels from Tee-ball to Juniors and serves nearly 1000 Davis players each season. Register at http://davislittleleague.org/index.php: Costs are $100 for Tee-ball; $155 for Farm ball, AA, AA, and Majors; and $250 for Juniors. Late fees apply on and after January 1, so register now.

* Attention, high school seniors! It’s not too soon to think about Grad Night 2013! The tickets for the all-night commencement celebration in June cover food, drinks and entertainment and are at their lowest price, $75, until Dec. 31. Scholarships are available through school counselors. Ticket forms can be found at www.davisgradnight.org and questions may be answered at [email protected]
