A leader and a team player

Nancy Peterson really gets the big picture without losing sight of the students. I was very excited to hear that she was finally throwing her hat in the ring for a seat on the Davis Board of Education. What took her so long?

I have known Nancy from the early days of Montgomery Elementary School Site Council where she served as president. I observed her masterfully and creatively maximizing budgets to ensure that every program was well funded and every child of every need benefited from her decisions. Her intellect and problem-solving capabilities were and still are remarkable.

I also worked with her on the Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Committee, where she quickly learned to use her knowledge and influence in this broader arena to make a difference districtwide. The learning curve was steep, but she welcomed taking on the challenges the district faced in running exceptional schools in an extraordinary district.

Nancy has, since those days, tirelessly parlayed her energy, talent and enthusiasm by getting involved in our community at so many various levels. She is thoughtful, intelligent, fiscally prudent, knowledgeable and willing to do whatever it takes to meet the challenges of our school district and the Davis community. She is both a leader and a team player.

I heartily endorse Nancy Peterson for the Davis school board, and please remember to vote.
