A lower-cost water alternative

By From page A6 | February 08, 2013

My family has owned a ranch that borders the Conaway Ranch for more than 100 years. It is adjacent to the city of Davis. I have contacted various government officials in Davis and told them about the abundance of groundwater we have on our land. Plenty of the local water engineers are also aware of the abundance of water on our ranch. I was told that Davis was interested only in river water.

I know a couple of deep water wells could be installed and the water treated on site and piped right next door to the city of Davis at a considerably lower cost than what’s currently being considered in Measure I.

Water is water. Both ground and river are rechargeable.

Voting no on Measure I allows more time to find a reduced cost water source for the city of Davis.
