Adams is a voice for equity
Please join me in voting for Tom Adams for school board. I know Tom well in his role as the executive director of the Instructional Quality Commission at the California Department of Education. I worked closely with Tom as he led the development of California’s groundbreaking English language arts-English language development curriculum framework for public schools and am currently working with him as he leads the development of the new California science framework.
Tom’s leadership in these areas is significant. Not only has Tom ensured that these guides support teachers and administrators to implement our new Common Core and Next Generation science standards, he also has been a strong voice advocating for educational equity in the frameworks.
Because of Tom’s leadership, California’s English learners, students with disabilities, students living in poverty, students who are culturally diverse, and indeed every student who brings their multiple layers of diversity to our classrooms will have a better chance of receiving an education where they can thrive and pursue their dreams.
