Another vote against scanners

By From page B3 | April 18, 2013

The reason I will not rejoin the Friends of the Library is because of the bar-code scanners who monopolize the room and skim off the books into their myriad cartons at the sale opening. Readers cannot survey the books without these pests pulling out books and pushing their way into the aisles.

If this is truly a service for the library patrons, especially the readers, and serves as a library income source, then please restrict all bar code-scanning devices until the final day of the sale. Receipts will still grow to benefit the library, and the good will of library patrons will be retained and enhanced.
