Award helps Indian orphans
We like to thank the many Davis residents who participated in the online voting contest of the “Heroes with a Heart” award program of the CTK Foundation. We are happy to share that the CTK Foundation has officially announced the results and confirmed that from the 64 international organizations that were nominated, our Davis-based organization Sahaya International received the most votes in the Health and Human Services category. As promised, we will use the $5,000 grant award to enroll an additional 14 needy orphans in our existing orphan support program in India, which currently has 219 children and youths. These 14 children will now receive support to meet their basic needs of schooling, food and clothing for one year. We will be posting their pictures, stories and letters on our website, www.sahaya.org.
