Boylan is dedicated to community

By February 10, 2011

I was delighted to see that Paul Boylan had submitted his name for consideration as City Council member. I’ve known Paul Boylan for over a decade. Besides attesting to his kindness and generosity as a neighbor, I can speak of his passion for Davis. He demonstrates his love for the many communities that mingle within our town through volunteering for and supporting community events. He celebrates everyone’s diversity and strives to ensure respect for all members of our little community.

He was the first person to tell me about the Davis Farmers Market. He is on a first-name basis with several of the merchants and clearly values local produce. He is a devoted family man who clearly sees the big picture when looking at issues which affect all of us. Although he is a conservative and I am a liberal, he has made clear to me over many years that he values civil discourse and the lively exchange of ideas.  He is a thoughtful man with an open mind. Even when he defends his well thought-through arguments, he will still listen, hear and sometimes modify his opinion.

I know that Paul Boylan will bring integrity, the quest for common ground and devotion to the spirit of this community.  What a relief it would be to see this approach on a larger scale, don’t you think?
