Chamber tourney a huge success

On Friday, Sept. 27, the wind died down and the sun shone brightly for the Davis Chamber of Commerce’s annual Golf Tournament at Wildhorse Golf Club. The golf tournament is one of the Chamber’s largest fundraisers and allows our member-supported, nonprofit business organization to further its mission of promoting, supporting and advocating the general economic vitality of our membership and quality of life for the community.

This year’s tournament was themed “Casino Classic” and was our most successful ever, with 112 golfers and 29 sponsor companies participating.

Sponsorship of an event is a significant commitment and we’re immensely grateful to all our sponsors, especially the title sponsor, PG&E, for making that investment and contributing to the fun had by everyone on the course.

Our golf tournament is an opportunity for members of the region’s business community to foster one-on-one connections in a fun, informal setting. The roving drink carts, interactive tees, prime rib dinner by Cracchiolo’s Market, festive decorations donated by Davis Grad Night, and multitude of contests held on the course helped accomplish just that.

Planning an event is a huge undertaking. The success of this tournament would not have been possible without the support of our fantastic planning committee composed of representatives from Woodland Healthcare-Davis, First Northern Bank, Interland Corp., Hallmark Inn, North Valley Bank, Yolo Federal Credit Union, Edward Jones Investments and Brooks Painting.

Next year’s golf tournament will be held in September and we invite you to join in the fun!

Kemble K. Pope
Chamber executive director
Paul Mamoulelis
Chair, Golf Tournament Committee
