Dance competition a big success

By
From page A6 | November 23, 2012 |

On behalf of the Davis High School Jazz Choir, we extend a big thank you to all the individuals and organizations that contributed to the success of the third annual “Everybody Dance Now!” dance competition on Oct. 13 at the Brunelle Performance Hall.

First, we thank all the junior high and senior high school students who competed, including grand prize winner Alex Sprague and audience choice winners Sabrina Clark and Cole Yambrovich.

We also thank Rex Wheeler, Ron Cisneros and Denise Mathieu for serving as judges; Watermelon Music for selling tickets; Davis Media Access for recording and airing the show; and Nugget Market for providing meals for the judges. The event would not be possible without the direction of Jazz Choir choreographer Cara Rains, support of Jazz Choir director William Zinn and volunteer efforts of Jazz Choir parents.

Most of all, we thank all members of the public who came out to cheer on the dance competitors and encourage the vibrant arts community that makes Davis a wonderful place.

Beth Savidge, Sally Hirst, Carol Stewart and Jackie Kinney
