Davis Music Fest a huge success

By
July 1, 2011 |

Big thanks to everyone who came out and enjoyed the shows last Saturday! Without your support, this would have been a one-and-done, failed experiment. Fortunately, local music fans are alive and kicking and we intend to provide a similarly styled festival again in 2012.

As organizer, I’ve been the face of this thing for the past several weeks in regular, new and social media, for which I humbly accept the gratitude and support shown by our community and folks who have taken time to praise the idea and efforts to pull it off.

Obviously, one person can’t throw a party of this magnitude and it’s important that the following people are recognized as critical players.

Awesome Patrol: Anne Meck, Bill Pride, Cat Jones, Chris Dito, Chris Reilly, Christina Juneau, Dave Horne, John Felts, Jordan Smart, Kari Fry, Landon Christensen, Lauren Bartelt, Melanie Gentles, Michael Davidson, Sara Eley, Scott Laws and Spencer Mathews.

Gig guidance: Alex Roth, Bob Bowen, Jesse Lee Miller and Kevin Wan

Sound engineers: Laurence Herman (Electron Pro Audio), Rick Stansby and Jeremy Phillips (Round Sound), Ben Johnson, Ira Skinner, Shiva Shahmir.

Promo: 95.7 KDRT, 90.3 KDVS, Radio 94.7, Armadillo Music, The Davis Enterprise, Davis Pedicab, iSeeDavis.com, Patch.com, Dennis Carlson (Bespoke Benefits), Davis Downtown Business Association and The Davis Dirt!

Merch: Eric Redpath (sweet logo), Lindsay Walker (cool posters), Jason Steenbergen (Ink Monkey; awesome tees and wristbands)

Food and beverage: Sudwerk (Ryan Fry & Staff), Putah Creek Winery (Arne Montano), Chipotle, The Hotdogger, Woodstocks Pizza, YoloBerry Yogurt

Venue owners and management: Lee Walthall, Vaclav and Eva Burger, Dody Black

Additional sponsors: The Flett family, the Spangler family, Bud and Judy Wolf, The Klineberg family, BazuSports, Davis Food Co-op, Hallmark Inn, Parcel Dispatch PDQ, The Pepper Peddler, Renew Denim, The Wardrobe, Watermelon Music

* All of the artists and all of the fans. Thank you so much! We’ll rock it again soon,

Danny Tomasello
