Disappointing news on water

By
From page A6 | April 03, 2014 |

I was looking forward to getting rid of my water softener once Davis tapped into the Sacramento River supply. After reading The Davis Enterprise’s Ask the Expert Q & A from Blue Fountain Water, I see that my plan to shutter my softener is folly.

Water quality, it appears, will be worse overall with the river supply, not better (not to mention more expensive, even at my current 55 gallons per day). It sounds particularly worrisome for the immuno-compromised people who visit or live in our community.

Perhaps Blue Fountain Water is looking to sell more filtration systems in Davis, but what they wrote likely has more than a grain of truth to it nonetheless. That reality is hard and disappointing to accept.
