Don’t miss bike path opportunities

There is a wonderful opportunity to connect the North Davis bike paths with the new bike paths in The Cannery project. Northstar Park has a bike path that extends up to Anderson Road and Sandpiper Drive. We could swing this bike bath over to F Street through vacant land, have it go under F Street and the railroad tracks and then head south along the east side of the tracks to connect with The Cannery.

This would provide a great extension of the Davis Bike Loop and provide an excellent way to go under the road and tracks rather than building a crossing over F Street. And, on the east side of the Northstar ponds there is enough vacant land to make an F Street detour while the F undercrossing is being built.

Note that this is really the only place along F Street where an underground bike path is possible. Please give this careful consideration.

Also, there is also a wonderful tree-lined culvert that runs west to east from F Street to Pole Line Road, and we could extend a bike path straight across reaching Nugget Fields and Moore Boulevard. Great opportunity! Don’t let it pass us by …
