Don’t miss this Acme show

By From page A6 | August 05, 2014

The young people of Davis are amazing. I just returned from seeing the Acme Theatre Company production of “The Rememberer” at the Brunelle Performance Hall at Davis High School.

This play, written by Steven Dietz, was beautifully directed by Emily Henderson and the whole cast did a splendid job portraying the moving story of Joyce Simmons Cheeka, who was the chosen rememberer for her tribe. Her honor and her duty was to remember the stories of her tribe. This became very difficult when she was taken to a Christian boarding school.

Because the acting was so fine I am sure the students carry with them a deep understanding of this time in our history, which they communicated so eloquently to me. You can see the show at 7 p.m. this Friday and Saturday and at 4 p.m. Sunday. Bring your whole family; you’ll be glad you did.
